Sydney start-up eBev looks to provide hospitality venues with a platform to manage all their wine suppliers.

The platform aims to save time and drive efficiency, with features including analysis and industry benchmarking tools to aid its users in managing their beverage programs. The traditional time-consuming task of managing stock and fulfilling beverage orders from multiple suppliers can be replaced using eBev. The company says it only takes around ten minutes.

Currently, the platform boasts 22,931 wines from over 200 suppliers, with major wine suppliers including Oatley Fine Wine Merchants, Winestock, Treasury Wine Estates, Moet Hennessy Australia, Fine Wine Partners, McWilliams Red+White, World Wine Estates, and many more.

eBev allows venues to buy, compare, shortlist, order, transact, manage inventory and analyse performance. Venues can also communicate directly with suppliers, and the suppliers can list and update product information, price, manage orders and track sales history on the same platform. Only beverage managers will be able to access all supplier pricing information and eBev says any negotiated terms remain confidential between manager and supplier.

Customers to the platform receive quarterly reports, including metrics about popular products and suppliers, wine varietals and price points.

General Manager Cassandra McDonald said, “We’ve received great feedback from our existing customers about the ease efficiency of the platform, and it’s given us confidence to launch in Melbourne.

“Beverage managers find eBev valuable because they can search for beverages based on price, variety, region, vintage or supplier and they are able to manage and order all their beverages in one place. Suppliers say that it's invaluable for getting their products in front of hundreds of active buyers."

The platform will also be expanding beyond wine in the future. "We’re also opening eBev up to other drinks categories so perfect if you’re into beer or spirits as well," McDonald said.

Current Sydney venues signed up to eBev include Bills Group, Garfish Group, The Greenwood Hotel, Bathers Pavilion and The Tilbury Hotel.
