The long-standing spirit partner of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival heads Down Under for the month-long Sydney Comedy Festival, kicking off on April 24.
The festival features local and international talent at venues including the Sydney Opera House, Comedy Store and Factory Theatre.
Brandon Moon, APAC Marketing & Digital Manager, Ian Macleod Distillers, said the Australian comedy scene is a natural fit for Edinburgh Gin.
"Supporting the Sydney Comedy Festival has been inspired by our commitment to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, that we are proudly part of. The comedy culture in Australia is a natural fit with Edinburgh Gin, and we are thrilled to have more people taste and experience our wonder-filled award-winning gins," he said.
Cameron Crowley, Managing Director of Swift+Moore Beverages, distributor of Ian Macleod Distillers in Australia, said the partnership is an excellent opportunity for the Scottish distiller to branch out into the gin-loving Australian market.
"This is a great opportunity for Edinburgh Gin to really introduce itself to the Australian consumer. As a world-leading gin, Edinburgh Gin gets the connection between comedy, nightlife and our ever-evolving cocktail culture. It also underlines the commitment that Edinburgh Gin has to develop its presence in the Australian market," he said.
During the festival, Edinburgh Gin will create Gin Wonderland in the Factory Theatre courtyard, where spectators can meet the brand's global ambassador, Philip Kingscott, and go in the running to win a range of prizes.
An award-winning spirit, Edinburg Gin's most recent prizes include a Gold for Edinburgh Gin Cannonball and a Silver for Edinburgh Gin Seaside at the Bartenders' Brand Awards 2023.
