Mornington Peninsula winemakers are hosting a tasting in Sydney in September.
It will be held from 6–9pm in the Sunroom at the Ivy, George St, Sydney on September 3.
This spring tasting will be predominantly promoting the region’s Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. There will be 22 Mornington Peninsula winemakers in attendance with new wines to share.
The combination of powerhouse pioneers, winemakers, owners, legends and the ‘next-generation’ with their own ambitious aspirations includes Ten Minutes by Tractor, Merricks Estate, Port Philip Estate, Yabby Lake, Kooyong, Scorpo, Willow Creek, Paradigm Hill, Main Ridge Estate, Paringa Estate, Hand Picked, Kerri Greens, Ocean 8, Polperro, Stonier Estate, Crittenden Estate, Miceli, Quealy, Montalto, Moorooduc, Principia and Foxey’s Hangout.
The Mornington Peninsula is a region of spectacular natural beauty located 80km south of Melbourne. It has a long history of fruit growing in a cool, maritime climate with prevailing cool southerly winds coming off Bass Strait which moderate temperatures to provide mild growing conditions.
These conditions enable winemakers to grow and ripen quality Pinot Noir, a grape that flourishes in a select few regions around the world. The rich, volcanic soils of the Peninsula coupled with the maritime climate deliver wines that embody purity and perfume intensity of fruit flavour and lively acidity that is characteristic of Mornington Peninsula wines.
The Vignerons of the Mornington Peninsula are a collective of boutique producers that have a passion for growing exceptional fruit, making often very limited quantities of world-class wines.
Tickets are $75pp - with 80 wines to taste over a generous grazing table and a Riedel glass to take home.
