McWilliam's wine brand Evans & Tate in Western Australia, recently welcomed Jodie Opie to its winemaking team. Opie, who has a career spanning two decades in wine, primarily in the Margaret River, has joined the team as Winemaker.

Opie completed her Bachelor of Science (Oenology) at Adelaide University. She was previously Chief Winemaker at Aravina Estate, also located in Margaret River, and has lectured at Margaret River TAFE.

Opie will work alongside Chief Winemaker, Matthew Byrne, who said, "Jodie's wealth of experience, coupled with her endearing passion for making wine in Margaret River, will be an asset to McWilliam's Family Winemakers and we look forward to her contributing to Evan and Tate's continuing success."

Jodie added, "I'm thrilled to be joining a company with the history of McWilliam's. The McWilliam's name gives extra pedigree to the Evans & Tate brand, which itself has a long-established reputation. Plus, I'm delighted to be joining a talented team of winemakers and hope to contribute to the wonderful wines being made by Matt and the team."
