Australia's most awarded hard seltzer brand, Fellr, has announced the release of Fellr Double, an alcoholic soda range delivering 6.5 per cent ABV and 1.8 drinks per serve.

With a more intense flavour and fuller mouthfeel than their original selzer range, Fellr Double launches today in four fruity flavours, including Green Apple, Lemon Squash, Raspberry and Passionfruit.

Co-founded by drinks industry veterans Andy Skora and Will Morgan mid-Pandemic, Fellr recently took the top spot in The Australian Financial Review's Fast Starters as Australia's fastest growing new company.

They also won best brewed Hard Seltzer at The Spirits Business' 2022 Hard Seltzer Masters in London for the Fellr Passionfruit. The judges noted the brew is flavoured with "lovely passionfruit with some tannic tea notes – very inviting".

"Our mission has always been to help people tap the most from the real pleasures in life, and Fellr Double is the perfect drink for those who want to squeeze the last drop from every moment," said Morgan.

"At Fellr we're huge on innovation, and have always been committed to delivering high-quality, delicious, and refreshing drinks that people are proud to drink. We saw an opportunity to expand beyond the seltzer category and tap into audiences that are looking for a more intense and full-bodied flavour without the sugar," said Skora.

According to a recent report by IBISWorld, Australians are increasingly choosing low-sugar, lighter-style alcoholic options in the booming ready-to-drink market that continues to outperform beer, wine and spirits.

Globally, the hard seltzer market is expected to be worth US$49.4 billion by 2028, driven by demand for lower-ABV drinks. The US-based research company Grand View Research believes the hard seltzer market will increase by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 31.4 per cent from 2021 to 2028, up from US$5.6 billion in 2020.
