The much loved Fever-Tree G&T Festival, is moving interstate for the first time: heading to Queensland this September for the inaugural Brisbane event. The second stop on the 2021 national tour and the first of its kind in Brisbane, the festival will be held in partnership with Howard Smith Wharves (HSW).
The event was to be hosted in July but had to be postponed due COVID-19 restrictions.
All existing ticket holders have been contacted by Fever-Tree with their rescheduled festival session and instructions on how to apply for a refund for their ticket if they are no longer able to attend the festival.
Unlike Sydney, the event will run for the whole month of September when Fever-Tree's container bar pops up at Howard Smith Wharves to serve a range of delicious cocktails and G&T combinations. The month-long celebration will culminated with the G&T Festival on the weekend featuring presentations from distillers, food, acoustic music and DJ sets.
“After a sell-out event in Sydney in March, we couldn’t be more excited to bring the Fever-Tree G&T Festival to Brisbane to help our gin-loving friends in Queensland explore the fascinating world of gin and tonic”, said Trish Brew, Fever-Tree Australia Brand Ambassador.
“Aussie gin is really shaking up the category and winning international spirit competitions frequently. There’s an Australian gin to suit every taste and occasion. Our Festival experience is all about helping you to discover exciting combinations with our range of premium mixers, and there’s plenty of fun to be had with trial and error along the way.”
Festival goers can look forward to:
- Tonic Discovery Bar – discover your favourite Fever-Tree tonic on entry to the Festival
- Gin Village – sample and explore the world of gin with 18 distillers showcasing their latest (g) innovations
- The Ultimate Gin & Tonic Bar – serving up a range of bespoke G&T pairings in full-sized G&Ts
- Workshops & Discovery Talks – extend your knowledge of gin with the distillers themselves
- Food Precinct – Howard Smith Wharves restaurant pop-ups throughout the festival site
Over the final weekend, gin thirsty fans can expect an intimate, Covid-safe experience from the festival, with three-hour immersive sessions throughout the weekend. Eighteen local and international gin distillers will be on board to highlight the very best in gin that Australia has to offer, paired with the world’s finest tonics from Fever-Tree premium mixers.
Local and international distillers will exhibit on site, including national favourites Four Pillars Gin, Archie Rose Distilling Co and Never Never Distilling Co as well as celebrated gins from around the world. A line-up of Queensland’s boutique distillers will showcase the best of the state, including Wolf Lane Distillery from Cairns, the Sunshine Coast’s Sunshine & Sons and Bundaberg’s Kalki Moon Distilling & Brewing Company. The festival will also welcome family-owned craft distilleries from around the country, like New South Wales' Earp Distilling Co from Newcastle and Moore’s Dry Gin from Erina.
Curated by Fever-Tree premium mixers, the Festival aims to highlight the wonderful world of modern gin and introduce Australians to their perfect gin and tonic pairings. With gin sales up 19.3% year-on-year in Australia (IWSR 2020), it is the fastest growing category in alcoholic beverages.
