The Northern Territory loves U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year. From the busiest trendy metropolitan bar to the iconic corrugated iron outback pub, the locals embrace their U.G.L.Y. Bartenders and that is the main reason why the Northern Territory have taken out the National title in the last 4 consecutive years.

In 2014 the NT and National winner was Casey Cheal from the Palmerston Tavern.  Her team raised over $31,000, holding weekly trivia nights, meat tray raffles and their annual U.G.L.Y. Golf Day. Getting creative they even did a Mullet competition and a Wheel Barrow Walk collecting donations from the neighbouring township of Coolalinga all the way back to their pub.  Casey attributes her success to the unwavering support of her Venue Manager, the Palmerston Tavern staff and the venue’s valued patrons.

This year the Palmerston Tavern is determined not only to beat last year’s fundraising efforts but also to defend their title and keep the National U.G.L.Y Bartender of the Year Trophy in NT.  It is Karen Lewis (pictured) who has stepped up to the bar (literally) and is ready to roll up her sleeves to be U.G.L.Y.  She has proudly nominated herself as Palmerston Taverns’s U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year for 2015 and has a fantastic list of events ready to roll out.

Wishing Karen all the U.G.L.Y. success in achieving her goal and carry the U.G.L.Y. torch for Palmerston Tavern.  The competition this year is shaping up to be even fiercer, with more venues seeing the value of getting U.G.L.Y. and what better way to battle it out then for a worthy cause. Register to be the Face of U.G.L.Y. in your venue and state in 2015 at www.uglybartender.org.au.
