Atomic Brewery Redfern has canned its award winning Atomic Lemon Whip sour into cans and the People's Choice Winner is now on sale for a limited time.
“It’s dinner, drinks, and a show all in one. What’s not to love?” says Atomic head brewer Nick Ivey.
Inspired by a classic lemon meringue pie, Atomic Lemon Whip uses lactose in the brew to provide body and sweetness, while packing stacks of fresh lemons into the beer to provide intense flavour and aroma. At GABS, the sour was topped with a soft whipped meringue that was blowtorched in the glass.
While the can does not come topped with a meringue and nor is it kitted out with its own blowtorch, the brew has been tweaked to enjoy as is in can. However, it’s still great with a topped meringue for those committed to the full package and your guide to doing so is helpfully provided below.
“It’s really exciting to have Lemon Whip available in can across the country. I was surprised about how popular it was at GABS. We had people lining up at our stand before the event had even started. It was great to get the feedback from punters about how much they enjoyed it. I never wanted to make a gimmicky beer, just for the gimmick and not have the liquid stack up. The beer is delicious with or without the meringue on top, and it delivers as a full flavour experience, not just something that looks cool,” says Ivey.
To celebrate the release, Atomic Brewing has launched a “how to meringue” video and competition, where the best meringue posted to socials can win a stack of prizes.
Coming in at 4.5% ABV, Atomic Lemon Whip is available nationally in 6x4x330ml cans. Here for a good time, not a long time, contact your local Good Drinks sales rep for orders and further info.
