Renowned Danish design house Georg Jensen and premium Tasmanian wine producer Heemskerk have joined forces to release the Georg Jensen Hallmark Cuvée by Heemskerk.

The Hallmark Cuvée is a crisp and delicate aperitif style that has been made by sparkling winemaker, Trina Smith, using cool climate chardonnay and pinot noir grape varieties. The wine has finely structured acidity and subtle complexity; the intense structure of the chardonnay combining with flavours of pinot noir.

“The Hallmark Cuvée is a classic aperitif style; it’s crisp and clean, vibrant with a very fine bead”, Smith said. “It’s a refined style designed for that first sip of the day, the delicate burst of bubbles and refreshing finish.”

The nose opens up with citrus blossom, fresh lemon and grapefruit zest, followed by a beautiful chalky mouthfeel and backbone of taut acidity and elegant minerality, with lemon pith and roasted cashew nuts on the palate.

The bottle features a classic metal re-sealable stopper that can be repeatedly used to keep this and other bottles of wine fresh once opened. Designed by Heemskerk, George Jensen and Heemskerk designers Denomination (formerly The Collective Design Consultants), the bottle is elegant and classic, combining the shape of a Champagne/sparkling bottle with a traditional wine bottle.

Georg Jensen Hallmark Cuvée by Heemskerk NV will retail for $39.99 and is available from Treasury Wine Estates.
