The prize will grant one lucky Australian artist the opportunity to live and work in residence for three months at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland.
This year will be the first time that the opportunity will be offered to an artist from the region.
Finalists will be announced on August 10 by a panel of judges, including actress Rachel Griffiths, former Lord Mayor Lucy Turnbull AO, Sue Kato and the CEO of Williams Land Trust, Evan Williams.
Following the announcement, Artist in Residence Program Curator Andy Fairgrieve will visit Australia in September for the final selection round, with the winner announced on September 13.
From its beginnings in 2001, the Artists in Residence Program has seen over 100 artists from 18 countries take part the residency program.
Over the past 14 years, the residency has become widely acclaimed in the art world for providing artists with an original setting, space and community in which to work. This has resulted in artists producing a number to diverse works, to be exhibited in the Glenfiddich gallery at the culmination of their time within the distillery.
