Representatives from the NSW Government will hit the road for a series of regulatory roadshows designed to open dialogue with hospitality and racing in regional areas.

The first of four events will be held in Newcastle on May 2, followed by Bathurst on July 18, and two more events yet to be confirmed in other regional centres.

Anthony Keon, CEO of Hospitality and Racing, said the regulatory roadshows would give the hospitality and racing industries the opportunity to share their experiences and hear about the Government’s current regulatory priorities.

“The regulatory roadshows are a great opportunity for industry members from licensed venues and race clubs to learn how the NSW Government intends to work with them, and for us to hear from them directly about their perspectives and challenges.

“The series will feature a range of speakers, interactive panel discussions and information booths showcasing the services available to the industries,” said Keon.

Keon said the liquor and gaming industries are essential to the NSW economy and have the potential to facilitate job growth across the state in the future.

The first event in Newcastle will cover topics including compliance trends, an update on liquor licence reforms, and changing industry training requirements.

“The series serves as a great networking opportunity and a chance to promote closer collaborations between the Government and industry stakeholders.

“Industry participants can hear first-hand the issues that we will be focusing on over the coming period and where we will be targeting our regulatory efforts.

“We are committed to working collaboratively with the hospitality and racing industries and help ensure our new priorities lead to tangible benefits for the sectors and wider community,” said Keon.
