Granddad Jack has released its annual Pink on Pink Gin for Mother’s Day.

Granddad Jack's Craft Distillery is a family-owned and operated craft spirit and liqueur distillery founded in 2017. Its first distillery is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, and its second distillery in Brisbane opened in 2021.

The gin is one of the craft distillery's most anticipated seasonal releases, thanks to its perfect suitability as a Mother’s Day gift.

The only coloured gin produced by the team at Granddad Jack’s, the Pink-on-Pink iteration is a labour of love for the head distiller and company co-founder Luke Ridden – he developed the concept four years ago in honour of his wife Jess after she gave birth to the couple's first child Archer.

“There are no words to describe how special it is to become a parent, and to see your wife and best friend in that way is heart-warming," says Luke. “I wanted to create a drink that bottled that special feeling.”

While a different batch is produced each year in the lead-up to Mother's Day, the uncertainty associated with sourcing local produce means that the Pink on Pink Gin differs each year.

Granddad Jack says it’s, for this reason, this limited-edition gin has become a symbol of motherhood – one of a kind, each different in her way.

"As a family-owned craft distillery, supporting local and giving back to our community is central in all we do, so finding ways to involve other local businesses is always front of mind," said Granddad Jack's CEO and Founder David Ridden.

Self-taught and celebrated Gold Coast artist Keira Wolf designed the label for the latest edition. Her pieces revolve around the common theme of connection, making her artwork a beautiful addition to the product and further symbolising the special bond between mother and child.

“We’re stoked to have partnered with local artist Keira Wolf this year. She designed the label for this year’s release – it really adds to the overall experience of the gin and shows how creating something beautiful and of high quality, whether it's art or alcohol, takes time, love, and commitment,” he said.

Granddad Jack’s Pink on Pink Gin prompted the team’s talented cocktail mixologists to craft signature sips with the Pink on Pink Gin, dubbed ‘Shiuma Rosa’, 'Sip Sip Baby', and 'Spill The Tea'. While stocks last, these cocktails can be enjoyed at Granddad Jack’s Brisbane or Gold Coast distilleries.

Cocktail recipes are available with each bottle of gin purchased or you can join a cocktail masterclass and learn from the experts.
