Hardys Wines commemorates and celebrates 170 years of winemaking with the release of The Eight – a 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz blend of eight wines from three terroirs.

The new release wine aims to embody the brand's commitment to capturing the essence of Australia's diverse terroir.

Through a meticulous selection process, it blends superior parcels from three esteemed vineyards – Frankland River, McLaren Vale, and Coonawarra. It draws on the Hardys winemaking expertise to harness the distinct characteristics of each region through the coming together of eight select barrels. The result is a powerful limited release wine of just 2004 bottles.

Hardys Winemaker, Helen McCarthy, describes The Eight as a true representation of Australia's winemaking prowess.

"This wine epitomizes our tireless pursuit of excellence. By meticulously handpicking the finest grapes from three iconic regions, we have created a wine that harmoniously combines their unique attributes. 'The Eight' is a testament to the immense potential of Australian wines and an experience that will delight wine enthusiasts around the world," says McCarthy.

"It is a wine of outstanding dark fruit intensity, concentration, structure, and length that will continue to develop complexity for decades." The Cabernet Sauvignon contributes elegant structure and refined tannins, while the Shiraz adds depth, richness, and a hint of spice. The resulting wine captivates the senses with its complex layers of dark fruits, subtle notes of chocolate, and a lingering, velvety finish.”

The Eight is available through Sydney and Melbourne Global Travel Retailers and the Hardys website for an RRP of $250
