William Grant & Son’s Hendrick’s has released its latest limited-release gin Grand Cabaret to the Australian market. Inspired by a stone fruit eau de vie popular in Paris in the early 1900s, Grand Cabaret has become the biggest release yet from Hendrick’s Cabinet of Curiosities and is available in over 50 global markets.
“I’m always looking for inspiration and this time I found it leafing through historical recipes for stone fruit spirits - eau de vies, peach schnapps, cherry liqueurs and the like - when those indulgent stone fruit flavours were really the ‘in thing’ for those that had the means to celebrate in spectacular style,” said Lesley Gracie, Master Distiller.
“I played around and found that when you put these different stone fruit flavours together, they give you a nice rich depth of flavour. I added sweet herbs to round the vibrant fruit out. It’s the first time I’ve experimented with stone fruits and I love how it adds a decadent depth of flavour, whilst maintaining a refreshing lightness.”
According to notes provided the distillery, the classic juniper character of Hendrick’s Gin is enhanced in Grand Cabaret by the natural soft sweetness and bright fruitiness of deliciously decadent stone fruit which complements and accentuates the freshness of our signature cucumber notes. Consumers should expect wild waves of light, fruity freshness that is rounded out by sweet aromatic herbs for a deliciously smooth, distinctly different, fragrantly fruity finish.
James Macrae, Hendrick’s Gin Brand Ambassador, said that “Grand Cabaret is perfect for a classic G&T, but if you want to add a luxurious twist, try the Grand Cabaret Royale. It combines cranberry, lime and a touch of sugar syrup which is topped with Champagne or sparkling wine for added decadence.”
Hendrick's Grand Cabaret is available to purchase at Dan Murphy's stores nationwide at an RRP of $79.
