Ryan Reynolds might be the hugely famous Deadpool, Green Lantern and ex-husband of Black Widow but he still has time to help out fans of his hugely popular Aviation Gin.
A doctor in Perth tweeted his praises for Reynolds’ gin after trying a sample and lamented that he didn’t know where to buy it.
“I believe Dan Murphy’s has you covered in Perth,” Reynolds tweeted noting where Dr Maginn’s was based according to his Twitter profile.
Dr Maginn responded with, “So this tweet about @VancityReynolds and @AviationGin generated a tsunami of activity on my timeline overnight. I had heard that he was totally vested in his product and his tweet signals that very clearly – am assuming it was really him. It’s true what they say about Canadians!”
The team at Dan Murphy’s was more than delighted with the random slice of PR gold.
“That’s what we’re talking about,” wrote Dan Murphy’s Communications Manager, Mira Palomaki.
The Western-style American gin from Portland, Oregon was named after the famous pre-prohibition era cult cocktail The Aviation. Its delicious lavender and citrus notes in a creamy-rye spirit base, make it enjoyable on its own or perfect in a lip-smacking cocktail, particularly its namesake. It has attracted interest from gin aficionados the world over. Leading US drinks magazine, The Wine Enthusiast voted it Top Gin.
“As Ryan Reynolds correctly pointed out, Aviation Gin is available at Dan Murphy’s in Perth and indeed all over the country,” said Dan Murphy’s Glass Spirits Category Manager, Elise McNeil.
“Premium gin is one of our strongest drinks trends at the moment. While Australians are increasingly looking to drink less, they are also drinking better. Aviation Gin has enticed many gin lovers with its delicious lavender and citrus notes, and the fact that it is Ryan Reynolds’ brainchild makes it even more gin-ius,” she added.
“Aviation Gin is currently on special for $70 for My Dan’s members, which is Dan Murphy’s loyalty program. We expect it to fly,” she said.
