Absolut has partnered with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras for the past five years but in 2023, its sixth partnership is set to be bigger than ever with Absolut partnering again with Mardi Gras as well as with Sydney WorldPride 2023, showcasing the  House of Absolut: a touring LGBTQIA+ celebration that unites the people you call family with experiences and parties across Gadigal Land (Sydney), as curated by adored queer talent from Friday, 17 February until Sunday, 5 March.

House of Absolut, in partnership with Merivale, is throwing open the doors to the Ballroom-dedicated House of Homes at The Alex in Alexandria, which will launch with a Housewarming Party. Alongside this will be the Rainbow Routes queer history bus tour, the Rainbow Routes Express shuttle and more during Sydney WorldPride 2023.

In celebration of the original chosen families – Ballroom Houses - House of Absolut will make The Alex its House of Homes this WorldPride, from Wednesday, 22 February 22 until Sunday, 5 March.

Xander Khoury - Father of the House of Silky - will curate and transform the upstairs of the beloved community pub into an immersive and educational "museum" and hub in homage to Ballroom in Australia. I

Round up your chosen family. Launching the House of Homes, Absolut and The Alex welcome you to a Housewarming Party like no other on Wednesday, 22 February with performances from acclaimed producer and Boiler Room DJ Mirasia, New Zealand-based selector Zeki and more. The Housewarming Party is where Australia’s Ballroom family will reunite, celebrate and share their talent with the wider WorldPride community.

On Thursday, 23 February and Friday, 24, House of Absolut Presents: Rainbow Routes bus traversing the streets of Sydney, taking riders on a journey through the city's queer history - from parties and marches, to places and moments. Hosted by Vanessa Wagner and including a chat with a 78er, Rainbow Routes is set to travel through time from ‘78 to today with guided curation by Kat Dopper of Heaps Gay and Summer Camp.

And that is just the tip of the rainbow!

All proceeds of House of Absolut will be donated to local charities and causes in support of the local Ballroom and wider queer community and the famed Absolut Rainbow limited-edition bottle has made a return and is on sale now - see more here.
