Hunter Valley Shiraz was the star at the 2019 Hunter Valley Wine Show, with Mount Pleasant awarded a staggering five trophies at for its 2018 Rosehill Shiraz.
The Shiraz won wine took out the following trophy titles: Best Red Wine of Show, Best Shiraz of Show, Best Current and One-Year-Old Shiraz of Show, Best Single Vineyard Red Wine of Show and Best Named Vineyard Wine of Show.
Meanwhile, the Mount Pleasant 2017 Maurice O’Shea Shiraz won the trophy for Best 2-Year-Old Shiraz of Show.
The winery said: "We were honoured to receive a staggering six trophies and five Gold medals! Special mention of our soon to be released Mount Pleasant 2018 Rosehill Shiraz – a gem of a drop. Big congrats to Adrian Sparks our uber talented Chief Winemaker and his team who make all the winemaking magic happen."
Other Hunter Valley shiraz winners included Tyrrell’s, which celebrated its seventh ‘Wine of Provenance’ Trophy for the 2007, 2014 and 2018 Sacred Sites Old Patch Shiraz.
