The island2island Beverage Company has announced the addition of Jefferson’s Bourbon to its distribution profile. The deal will see island2island distributing Jefferson's rare bourbons in Australia for a minimum of three years.
Jefferson’s Bourbon is known for its small batch bottling and experimental processes. Trey Zoeller, Founder of Jefferson’s Bourbon explained, "We make our bourbon in small batches, ridiculously small batches. This enables us to showcase the different flavours that result from the wood in each barrel, as in the case of single barrel bourbons. We maintain the consistency that is found in small batch bottling,”
“We buy small, esoteric lots of hyper-aged bourbon from larger distilleries that are too big create small, high-end projects and then play with the art of blending and experimenting, manipulating the maturation process to add balance and complexity.”
One of the high-end projects that has set Jefferson’s Bourbon apart was the experimental ageing process on the bow of a ship that resulted in the signature product Jefferson’s Ocean: Aged at Sea. Having taken bourbon distilled in Kentucky across five different continents, Jefferson’s found the constant motion and unique environment in this ageing process produced a rare dark bourbon with a briny, savoury taste.
Island2island has welcomed Jefferson’s Bourbon’s unique positioning with enthusiasm.
