Those clever Jacob’s Creek people have created a new product we're predicting will win summer ... Prosecco Spritz - sparkling wine with blood oranges, botanicals and a twist of bitter sweet citrus.
The launch comes in response to the current trend of consumers enjoying more Prosecco, spritz and aperitivo-style drinks in Australia. Jacob's Creek says its Prosecco Spritz is “as sophisticated as traditional Prosecco, [while giving] a new twist to the aperitivo moment.”
The spritz trend has been lead in Australia by Campari's Aperol, with sales jumping 18% in the past 12 months.
Meanwhile, Prosecco sales in Australia have increased by more than 180% in the past three years.
“Jacob’s Creek Prosecco Spritz is an example of our love and passion for sparkling winemaking, combined with a progressive spirit to create something new and exciting for consumers” says Jacob's Creek Sparkling Winemaker, Trina Smith.
“Our winemakers spent a lot of time perfecting the right mix of ingredients to best balance our Prosecco and zesty sweet blood oranges.
The new product even has its own Instagram account @proseccospritz and coined the hashtag #popandspritz dedicated to the delicious beverage.
Jacob's Creek recommends the ready-to-serve drink is best over ice with a slice of ruby red grapefruit.
You can find the product online or in all major retailers from this month onward, selling between $17-20 for a 750mL bottle (8.5% abv).
