Mornington Peninsula’s Jetty Road Brewery is opening a tap room in the heart of Lorne next week: Friday, 4 December.

Expanding beyond its home on the Mornington Peninsula and with the support of Mighty Craft, Jetty Road Brewery has taken over the site of the well-known Cuda Bar, employing the talents of Melbourne interior architecture firm Studio Y to give the beachfront venue a fresh new look.

The temporary spot will feature an outdoor beer garden with a fresh 1970’s beach vibe and seating for 150 people. Studio Y have just finished work on The Mighty in Moonee Ponds.

For two of Jetty Road Brewery Founders, Grant Rogers and Blake Bowden, Lorne is considered one of the absolute sweet spots on the Great Ocean Road.

“We can't wait to be pouring our fresh, ice cold JR froths and cooking up a storm for Lorne locals and holiday makers all summer long,” said Rogers and Bowden.

"Since we were teenagers, we have visited Lorne as holiday makers and are so stoked to be announcing that we will be setting up camp for our pop up bar this summer," said Bowden.

For Rogers, the two coastal communities of Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula and Lorne are not dissimilar.

“I have always loved heading to Lorne and this venue always stood out to me as an incredible space. To imagine 15 years later we would be opening the doors to expand our own brewery in this exact spot is a dream come true," he said.

A range of Jetty Road Brewery’s beers will be on tap at the new Lorne venue including the popular Pale Ale, XPA and Blueberry Sour. There will also be a list of cocktails featuring award-winning gins from Kangaroo Island Spirits and NoSh.

The drinks will be complemented by a menu of family friendly dishes using local produce. While the menu will be different to Jetty Road Dromana, featuring more beach-style snacks and fresh local seafood, the popular JFC Jetty Road Fried Chicken with red onion and coriander glaze will be there. A classic steak with dripping chat potatoes and a super green salad will also feature garnished with macadamia nuts and a tangy citrus dressing.

Jetty Road Brewery’s Summer Tap Room is located at 82 Mountjoy Parade, Lorne. It will be open from early December, beers pouring fresh with meals throughout the day and into the night.
