Proximo Spirits/Jose Cuervo International brands (JCI) has ended its partnership with Think Spirits in Australia.

The split will see major brands including Jose Cuervo, 1800 Tequila, Gran Centenario Tequila, Agavero Liqueur and The Kracken Black Spiced Rum leave Think Spirits’ portfolio. Proximo/JCI and Think Spirits partnered back in 2011 and secured the rights to the Jose Cuervo portfolio from Diageo in 2013.

Instead, it has been confirmed that island2island Beverage Company (i2i) will become the new distributor for JCI in this market from October, including the Jose Cuervo Tequila portfolio, 1800 Tequila, Gran Centenario Tequila, Agavero Liqueur, Boodles British Gin and The Kracken Black Spiced Rum.

In addition, from 1 October 2015, i2i will take over the distribution of Bushmills Irish Whiskey in Australia.

Les Page, Managing Director of i2i said: “We only bring likeminded brands into the island2island fold; ones with shared goals and vision. We believe success is built on the strength of partnerships and as JCI’s philosophy reflects ours, it’s an easy fit. We are absolutely thrilled to be looking after these well-loved, thriving brands.”
