As a result of the trade agreement, ALM will now offer the entire KTC product portfolio to its entire customer base from October, allowing KTC to further secure its position as a market leader in beverage distribution in Australia.
ALM houses one of the industry’s most extensive supply chains and is a strong partner in its ability to increase exposure. Through the alliance, ALM will in turn gain access to KTC’s market-leading global sourcing capabilities.
KTC Managing Director Michael Kollaras says the alliance will enable the company to focus on long-term strategic growth and value creation objectives. Kollaras also said that the partnership will help the company overcome a number of challenges it’s currently facing in scale, geography and delivery.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for us and an evolution of our strategy to become a leading supplier across the Australian market,” Kollaras said.
“ALM is the perfect partner for us as they have the largest distribution footprint in the country, supplying to all of the major independent retail groups and the largest number of on-premise accounts. ALM provides us with the platform to take our business model to the next level by providing the KTC difference to an even larger group of customers.
On first steps moving forward, Kollaras continued: “We are further investing in sales, merchandising and training resources so as to support independent licensees and on-premise accounts to successfully sell our growing brand portfolio. We are very excited to be entering this new era and cannot wait to start this game-changing partnership from October 1.”
ALM Chief Executive Officer Scott Marshall said customers will also benefit from the trade agreement, which consolidates the company’s positioning as a market-leading wholesaler.
“It’s great to bring the KTC product offering into ALM and give our customers access to some exciting product that delivers great value for consumers and also category-best margins for retailers and on-premise customers.
“ALM’s alliance includes our entry into an agreement that will utilise KTC’s global expertise as an import and export provider to assist us on many areas of product opportunity.”
Marshall continued: “This is something that we have been missing for a while and we can’t wait to start offering our customers these extended opportunities.”
As well as offering its product range in all 12 ALM distribution centres across Australia, KTC will be responsible for developing a range of exclusive products for the ALM network.
The projected launch date for the partnership is stated as 1 October.
At this time, KTC anticipates a seamless transition for customers, with no planned changes to the company’s business model.
