It's just one week until entries for the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge close - have you entered yet?

Regarded as one of the toughest competitions on the circuit, each entrant must submit written recipes for two cocktails - an Angostura rum cocktail and an Amaro di Angostura cocktail, both containing Angostura aromatic bitters.

In addition, they will need to film and upload a three-minute video of themselves making their rum cocktail and submit a written entry online.

Bartenders will be competing for one of the biggest prizes in the game with $10,000 in cash plus a 12-month contract as the Australian Angostura Brand Ambassador, not to mention a trip to Trinidad during Carnival to compete for the global title, where the overall winner will receive US$10,000 and a two-year contract as Angostura Global Brand Ambassador.

In past years, the challenge has seen some of the most influential bartenders in the industry compete for the title. Previous Australian winners include bartenders such as Marco Nunes from Canvas in Brisbane, Joe Sinagra from Bobeche in Perth, Andy Griffiths from Melbourne, Mike Tomasic from Rhonda’s in Terrigal and James Irvine from Swillhouse in Sydney. Marco, Andy and Mike have all won the global title too.

Tips for entering:

>> Keep it simple
>> Follow the rules to the letter
>> Ask your guests and colleagues for their opinions on your drink before submitting your recipes
