Last chance to enter Australia's Wine List of the Year Awards

Entries for Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards (AWLOTY) close at midnight on Monday 15th May.  This weekend marks your last chance to be recognised as one of Australia’s best wine and beverage lists.

Whether you're a pub, club, restaurant, or bar, you can enter for the chance to be celebrated and recognised for the hard work and expertise that goes into one of the most important elements of a successful hospitality establishment.  

Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards (AWLOTY) is today Australia’s most recognised awards program for wine and beverage lists.

It was established in 1993 by Tucker Seabrook in conjunction with Rob Hirst and his late wife, Judy. The awards celebrate the depth of talent, experience and passion of sommeliers and operators across the country to build and develop first-class wine lists and cellars.  

The judges encourage all worthy lists to be submitted whether large or small because as they say, ‘it is harder to make a good small wine list – where choice is restricted, than it is to make a large one.’  

For this reason, this year’s Awards showcase the smaller wine list category with three awards including Australia’s Best Wine List with maximum 50 wines, 100 wines and 200 wines.  

The Awards judging panel is made up of 30 of the world’s most respected wine talent. The panel is coordinated by Forrestal, alongside Deputy Chairs Jeni Port and Toni Paterson MW. Founder of the Court of Master Sommeliers Bryan Julyan MS is the International Chair, with 23 judges from Australia, and the balance from New Zealand, Germany, United States, France, Hong Kong, and Great Britain representing the international jury.

The global experience of these highly qualified wine writers, expert show judges, and leading sommeliers gives entrants a unique opportunity for some of the best and brightest to evaluate their wine lists,” founder Rob Hirst said.
