Laundy Hotels has opened its latest venue, the Woolly Bay Hotel in Woolloomooloo, following a $14 million transformation led by creative director, Justine Laundy, her husband and project manager, Nick Tindall and Sydney-based architectural firm Luchetti Krelle.
Situated opposite the famed Woolloomooloo Wharf and enjoying gun-barrel views of Andrew Boy Charlton Pool and Sydney Harbour, the three-storied 19th century landmark features a new Mediterranean restaurant and rooftop.
“It’s been very fulfilling to steer a project with such a rich and colourful history as the Woolly Bay Hotel, redesigning and reimagining those spaces for a contemporary patron,” explains Laundy Hotels creative director, Justine Laundy.
Floor to ceiling French doors envelope the ground floor public bar which open right out onto Cowper Wharf Road and lookout to the waterfront.
Led by Adelaide-born Laundy Hotels executive chef, Jamie Gannon and head chef, Adam Holt, the new Arturo’s 100-person casual dining restaurant sits on level one, serving a Mediterranean-style menu and celebrating the best in Australian produce.
Arturo’s Rooftop on level 3 is a described as a 'glass-oasis' that drinks in the views of the majestic city skyline and Art Gallery of New South Wales while house mixologist, Fabrizio Vani specialises in Martini’s, both shaken and stirred.
Woolly Bay Hotel is open seven days a week with lunch and dinner restaurant reservations at Arturo’s on level one available from Thursday through to Sunday, and Arturo’s rooftop open seven days. Reservations can be made via the website.
