Moët Hennessy Australia New Zealand has announced two key appointments to their leadership team. Ashley Powell will take up the role of Managing Director and Julien Marteau will be the new Marketing & Consumer Engagement Director.

Powell has been with Moët Hennessy for 16 years and returns to Australia to take up this new role with experience across Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Hong Kong and Macau.

Powell has held various positions within the company, including General Manager, Moët Hennessy New Zealand and Marketing and Business Development Director for the ANZ regional office. Since 2019 he has spent two years as the Managing Director of Moët Hennessy Champagnes and Wines Korea before taking on the role of Managing Director of Moët Hennessy Diageo Hong Kong & Macau.

“Moët Hennessy Australia celebrates its twenty-year anniversary this year. Our brands, such as Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Pérignon, Hennessy and Glenmorangie, continue to lead their markets and drive innovation and creativity in the region, and our locally crafted brands Chandon and Cloudy Bay are thriving and building global traction.

For Julien and myself, it is an honour to join Moët Hennessy Australia and New Zealand as we continue to Craft Experiences for our team, customers and consumers,” said Powell.

Marteau joins Moët Hennessy with over two decades of industry experience in sales and marketing, especially in the premium and luxury drinks segment. He was most recently the Head of Marketing, Core Brands Portfolio for Accolade Wines ANZ.

Before Accolade, Marteau spent a decade at Pernod Ricard Australia, working in key marketing and sales management roles across the portfolio, from Champagnes and Cognacs to spirits, shaping the luxury strategy and acceleration of Pernod Ricard’s premium brands in Australia.
