Mateus Rosé Original has introduced updated packaging across Australia, featuring a new clear glass bottle. The move was designed to showcase the liquid’s vibrant colouring and allow consumers not familiar with the brand to recognise the product on-shelf as a rosé.

Mateus pioneered its original flask-shape bottle when the product came to market in 1942, with the same unique bottle shape (updated in colour only) to continue as a key part of the brand’s identity.

The change in packaging, from the original opaque green glass to clear, follows from other markets including the UK, Poland, Canada, Japan and Germany.

“Mateus Rosé Original is a fresh, fragrant and slightly sparkling wine with lovely hints of red fruit. An ideal wine for all occasions, it offers a delicious and affordable drinking experience.

“Now produced in a clear glass bottle, the new look allows the beautiful rosé colour to shine through, and will help to increase product recognition (of rosé) by non-consumers of the brand. Although the bottle has changed, the wine remains the same as ever – Great, Fresh & Fruity,” explains the brand.

Mateus is distributed exclusively through McWilliam’s Wines.
