Mike Spencer has been appointed as General Manager of Paradise Beverages, Coca-Cola Amatil’s leading beverage business in the South Pacific.

Spencer moved from Head of Operations to Acting General Manager of Paradise Beverages in October 2016, following Tony Scanlan’s departure, and had previously worked for the business when it was owned by Carlton & United Breweries (then known as Fosters Group Pacific).

During his tenure with CUB, Spencer also managed all aspects of operations and was Head Brewer at the company’s largest brewery in Abbotsford, Victoria.

He is also the founder of Brewtique, a business that focuses on providing technical expertise for beer and brewing production and consultancy of brewery equipment to all breweries in the Asia-Pacific region.

“I’m absolutely thrilled and humbled to be given the opportunity to lead this great business.I was with the business in Fiji between 1993 and 1996 and have never forgotten that experience. My mission is to make Paradise the premier place to work in the region, continue the focus on creating world class beverages that we can enjoy locally and also take globally, and lastly to ensure we make a positive contribution to Fiji and Samoa.”

During the last few years, Spencer has led Paradise Beverages through a full redevelopment of the Suva Brewery and supported the production and creation of an export strategy for its rum portfolio.

Paradise Beverages employs around 300 staff in Fiji and Samoa and is a leading local manufacturer of products such as Fiji Bitter, Fiji Gold, Vonu Pure Lager and Fiji Premium. Other products include Bounty Rum and Cola and the globally awarded Rum Co. of Fiji range.
