Negociants Australia has become the national distributor for Lark Hill wines.
Ken Withers, General Manager Negociants Australia said: “We are proud and delighted at the rare opportunity to represent this family-owned, biodynamic, premium Canberra District producer. Their well sought after collection will add terrific value to our fine-wine offer.
“At Negociants Australia we pride ourselves on quality representation for innovative family-owned wineries and the Carpenter family’s vision is exactly that”.
“Sue and David’s curiosity and vision became reality in 1978 as wine pioneers in the Canberra District. Thankfully for us, they believed that growing organic wine in one of the coldest places in Australia was a great idea. Their Bungendore vineyard sits at 860m elevation and regularly sees its fair share of snow. With incredibly low yields, the site produces wines with great structure, acidity and a distinct minerality that, in our opinion, is unique to the region.
"Their son and resident winemaker, Chris Carpenter, does an amazing job in gently crafting exceptional biodynamic fruit into wines that clearly show their unique origins. The Lark Hill collection has a distinct identity that speaks to a very clear sense of place."
Carpenter was one of 12 finalists in the 2017 Young Gun of Wine Awards and the only finalist from NSW and the ACT in the awards, which showcase and celebrate Australia's emerging winemakers.
Carpenter added: “We are thrilled to join the Negociants family – we have the enviable position of being represented by a company who distribute a portfolio of wines we love and have been inspired by for decades. This change will help us better support our current customers, reach new markets and focus on winemaking."
