Matthew Jessop has commenced in the role of Executive Officer with NSW Wine.

He has a background in international trade, business and industry development and is the co-owner of a small family wine business in Orange. His professional background includes extensive work with the NSW Government, including the NSW Department of Trade and Investment, NSW Treasury, NSW Department of Industry and experience in managing trade and investments teams in Asia and the Middle East.

Mark Bourne, President NSW Wine, said, “We are confident that Matthew’s passion for the wine industry and his demonstrated past achievements, commitment, and vision will continue to take the NSW wine industry forward."

Jessop replaces Angus Barnes who has led NSW Wine for close to six years.

Jessop said: "After what has been a challenging few years for many in the industry, I’m really looking forward to building on work by the NSWWIA, and along with NSW’s growers and producers, seeing how we can increase the profile of our regions internationally even more, encourage more people into the industry and improve access to R&D opportunities. The exciting challenge for me, personally, is the ways in which I can continue to support a more sustainable and competitive industry in the future."
