The Board of Liquor Stax announced on Wednesday that its Chairman, David Marlow, has retired. Mr. Marlow continues to stand on the Board of Directors for now, but will also retire as Director on February 1.

Mr. Marlow has been a Director of Liquor Stax since its conception 27 years ago and was the original Chairman for the first ten years.

With the announcement, the Liquor Stax Board acknowledged Mr. Marlow’s “outstanding contribution and devotion” to the growth and direction of Liquor Stax.

“Despite an exceptionally difficult economic environment, David oversaw important changes during his tenure, significantly outperforming peer groups in terms of total member returns. He drove the introduction of Private Label, Control Labels, Membership Growth and evolving Trading Term partnerships with Suppliers”, the announcement from Liquor Stax said.

“Liquor Stax is a financially stronger and more self-reliant business having had David’s invaluable input.”

Michael Samios has, instead, been elected to the position. Mr. Samios is currently a Director at Liquor Stax, as well as the General Manager of The Vlandis Group, with over thirty years of experience in the retail liquor and hotel industry.
