Johnnie Walker has launched a highball bar at this year's Adelaide Fringe Festival that will tour Australia throughout the year.
Located in the buzzing Gluttony district of the Adelaide Fringe Festival (February 14-March 15), it celebrates the drink of the season, with four hero Highball serves, alongside a spiced-popcorn snack specially created by Africola’s Duncan Welgemoed.
Festival-goers can take in the views from the pop-up rooftop bar and choose from serves including Johnnie & Lemon Highball, Johnnie & Ginger Highball, Johnnie & Crisp Apple Highball and the Johnnie & Blood Orange Highball, all priced at $10. For $12, guests can enjoy the ‘Johnnie Walker x Africola Popcorn Combo’– which includes any Johnnie Walker Highball serve paired with the delicious spiced popcorn from the lauded South Australian restaurant.
Johnnie Walker Ambassador Katie Nagar said: “It is an incredibly exciting time for Johnnie Walker in Australia, as we inspire a new breed of whisky explorers to try something new and discover the possibilities of blended Scotch whisky.”
“The Scotch highball continues it’s huge resurgence and for good reason. It is a simple and tasty drink that showcases the quality of Scotch Whisky, while its low ABV means you can enjoy a lighter style drink that still offers amazing flavour.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Duncan and the Africola team to create a unique experience that showcases the variety of flavours and versatility of the Highball, providing the perfect pit-stop in between shows to take Adelaide’s world-famous Fringe Festival to new heights - quite literally!”
Melissa Maidment, Marketing Manager for Johnnie Walker, added: “The Johnnie Walker Highball Bar in the Gluttony precinct is the latest experience in our nationwide series of partnerships and activations championing the Highball serve.
"Following the tremendous success of our collaboration with some of Australia’s hottest bars, we’re thrilled to partner with Adelaide institution, Africola, to create a unique festival experience and showcase the true potential of Johnnie Walker to guests.”
In March and April, Johnnie Walker will also be taking over rooftops in Sydney and Melbourne, with the first being in Untied, Sydney's rooftop oasis overlooking Sydney harbour and Bourke Street Imperial, Melbourne.
