Managing Director of Paramount, Mark Rowe, told drinks bulletin: “Local Liquor is expanding its banner to Victoria and we will be joining forces with that banner and supplying the alcohol for the Victorian market”.
Paramount has been servicing Victoria since 1992 as a wide range liquor wholesaler and due to recent and rapid growth within the business has made the move to expand and provide an alternative route-to-market to Victoria. While Local Liquor was formed in 2002 by a number of independent retailers in the ACT. Today, Local Liquor comprises of 300 members in the ACT and NSW, and will now expand into Victoria.
While Paramount will be supplying Local Liquor in Victoria, Mr. Rowe did however confirm that ALM – Local Liquor’s current wholesaler in NSW, will continue its contract with the banner in that state. Additionally, Paramount’s existing business will continue as usual alongside the expansion. “Business will remain the same. Paramount has been specialising in the on-premise for 23 years and will continue to, but while also expanding our wings”, Mr. Rowe said.
Mr. Rowe confirmed that there are currently no major staffing changes to be expected, however there will be a slight change to the Local Liquor name, which will be released soon.
Mr. Rowe says he believes that the alliance will help Local Liquor grow in Victoria, and says that he expects Local Liquor to expand even further in Australia with Paramount after the transition and expansion into Victoria has completed.
