Peter Lehmann has released the inaugural The Master's Collection for 2021 with plans to release the collection of wines annually.
The wines are crafted to express the benefits of time and patience and will cellar exceptionally well under the right conditions. Each year the wines are released with bottle age which provides layers of complexity; the whites with a minimum of five years, and the reds with a minimum of three.

2015 Wigan Riesling
This wine is named after Andrew ‘Wig’ Wigan, Peter Lehmann’s right hand man from the beginning. His passion and winemaking expertise for crafting Rieslings of great purity and complexity is world renowned. Originally named “Reserve Riesling”, in 2004 the wine was renamed “Wigan Riesling” in honour of its maker.
The 2015 vintage featuring in this collection was Andrew Wigan’s last for Peter Lehmann before he retired, a great way to cap off his truly remarkable career. Over the years, the Reserve Riesling and Wigan Riesling have won numerous awards and accolades both domestically and internationally. The 2015 has been awarded 15 trophies and two dozen gold medals.
2015 Margaret Semillon
This wine is an ode to Margaret Lehmann, Peter's wife, business partner and confidante. A woman of strength and drive with an enormous passion for the Barossa region and her favourite white varietal, Semillon.
2018 Eight Songs Shiraz
Mr Lehmann looked for inspiration in all facets of his life and had a particular love of the arts. The Eight Songs Shiraz is named after one of his favourite musical works, ‘Eight Songs for a Mad King’.
2018 Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon
Mr Lehmann was a mentor to many, generously sharing his talent and passion for winemaking. The 2018 Mentor is Peter Lehmann's most awarded Cabernet in many years and received considerable success at the 2020 James Halliday Cabernet Challenge and the 2020 Barossa Wine Show.
2016 Stonewall Shiraz
Shiraz. The grape variety that has defined the Barossa as one of the world’s great wine regions. For over 20 years, Stonewell has been lauded as one of Australia’s greatest wines and one of the world’s greatest Shiraz.
THE MASTER’S STORY
Since the brand rolled out its first Master's releases in the early 1990s, the wines have received numerous awards and accolades, with Wigan Riesling one of the most highly awarded Riesling wines in Australia.
The range celebrates the people and moments that have influenced the Peter Lehmann winemaking story from the beginning. The ambition at Peter Lehmann has been to make the finest possible Barossa Valley wines and that is what inspired the winemaking style for which this range is renowned.
These wines represent the best of the Barossa Valley, showcasing the region’s traditional varietals. Today, the winemaking team seeks to find a balance between ensuring the wines remain contemporary while also retaining the unique house style of Peter Lehmann.
The range has also undergone a packaging refresh to reinvigorate the collection for this release, treading the balance of traditional premium cues and contemporary relevance.
