Dozens of prestige wine collections have been reported as missing from a specialist wine storage unit in the Hunter Valley. The total missing is thought to value at $5 million and include brands such as Penfolds Grange, varieties of Henschke, Torbreck and Chris Ringland/Three Rivers.

Police and detectives are looking to speak to anyone who may have purchased or has been approached to purchase collectable or vintage wines.

The wines were being held under agreement by Wine Investment Services Pty Ltd until the business went into receivership in 2013.

At the time, the business’ assets were seized, but a number of wine collections were found to be missing. Despite numerous further inquiries by owners, liquidators and local police, the wine was not located. Police and detectives believe the missing collections may have been stolen.
