The new Sierra Antiguo range has launched in Australia, bringing family-run craftsmanship and innovation all the way from the highlands of Guadalajara, Mexico, to our shores.
The range comprises two products, the Sierra Antiguo Plata, a fresh, fruity sweet, citrusy, clear spirit and the Sierra Antiguo Añejo, a warm, deep and golden tequila characterised by an aromatic, full-bodied flavour bouquet of vanilla, orange, cloves and pepper with a fruity finish.
Mario Kappes, Global Advocacy & Education Manager for Sierra Tequila, said it's time to bring more premium tequila to an increasingly discerning Australian consumer.
"We're thrilled to expand the Sierra brand into the Australian market with the launch of Sierra Antiguo, our 100 per cent Agave range. Our biggest intention with our brand is to be able to provide all our tequila lovers with a 100 per cent agave tequila with the best mixability for margaritas and other tequila drinks. 100 per cent agave, 100 per cent creatividad!
"Many Australians have been fans of Sierra Silver Tequila for a long time, and now we're upping the game with a more premium offering. We believe that the better the ingredients, the greater the indulgence – this range brings just that," he said.
Both variants are made from 100 per cent Blue Weber agaves and showcase traditional Mexican distilling methods passed down from generation to generation at the family-run Destilerías Sierra Unidas.
From the state of Jalisco, a region traditionally known for its tequila and mariachi bands, Sierra Antiguo's ultra-premium creations are extracted from the dry and sunny surroundings free of artificial fertilisers and industrial irrigation.
Sierra Antiguo is now available in over 70 retailers nationwide.
