Gage Roads x Liquor Barons Shore Break West Coast Pils

This week, Western Australian businesses Gage Roads and Liquor Barons have unveiled their latest collaborative brew, the Shore Break West Coast Pils.

According to Head Brewer Ross Brown, Shore Break is “the perfect hoppy beer heading into a Perth Summer: lighter on the booze, crisp and refreshing with a big fresh, punchy hop hit. A touch of malt sweetness alongside a smooth, crisp bitterness and some complexity from traditional hop varieties make it unique and super smashable.

“Shore Break West Coast Pils blends the best of the beer world - the crisp crushability of Pilsner and the expressive hop intensity of a West Coast IPA,” he added.

The Shore Break West Coast Pils limited edition release is canned at 4.5% and is available now from all Liquor Barons stores at $20 per 6-pack or $65 per case of 24. It will also be made available on tap at select WA venues including WA Freo.

Tasmania’s Tamar Ridge unveils new premium Pinot Noir

Tamar Ridge has unveiled its most premium Pinot Noir expression to date, the 2022 Grand Assemblage.

Bottled from seven barrels hand-selected by Senior Winemaker Tom Wallace, the resultant wine is described by the winery as complex and captivating displaying alluring aromas of wild strawberries, bright red fruits and subtle spice.

“With Grand Assemblage, we wanted to create a Pinot Noir that truly showcases the pinnacle of what we can achieve at Tamar Ridge,” said Wallace.

“The aromatics are captivating, and the palate is a beautiful dance of fruit, spice and earthy complexity. It's a wine that will reward those who take the time to savour it, revealing new layers of flavour and nuance with every sip.”

The Tamar Ridge 2022 Grand Assemblage is available now at $180 a bottle.

Jance Distillery debuts $65 Double Oak whisky

Jance Distillery has unveiled its debut whisky release, the Double Oak Australian Blended Whisky. Crafted to be approachable and easily enjoyable by all, the new release has been aged in ex-bourbon barrels, resulting in subtle coconut hints, crisp orchard fruits and flowers, and a distinct cereal warmth.

“It’s been over three years in the making and seeing the Double Oak Whisky come to life is an incredible milestone for us,” said Lance Mizzi, Co-Founder of Jance Distillery.

“Our aim with the Double Oak was to create a whisky that everyone can enjoy. It’s smooth, approachable, and incredibly versatile, making it perfect for any occasion. We hope it becomes a go-to favorite for whisky lovers and newcomers alike.”

Distillery Botanica unveils Christmas gin, annual berry liqueur

NSW Central Coast gin producer Distillery Botanica has unveiled its Christmas gin for 2024.

Named We Three Kings, the new release incorporates the flavours of traditional Christmas pudding, aromatics frankincense and myrrh, and edible gold flakes, resulting in a decadent and luxurious traditional Christmas affair.

Only limited quantities of We Three Kings were made, with each priced at $99.

Additionally, Master Distiller Philip Moore has also unveiled his annual berry liqueur ahead of the summer festive period. For 2024, the liqueur champions cool climate Tasmanian Tayberries, a cross between a raspberry and blackberry originally from Scotland.
