XXXX Ultra Zero Carb Beer
Lion Australia’s XXXX brand has unveiled its latest ultra low carb beer: XXXX Ultra Zero Carb. The new release, which features less than 0.5 grams of carb per bottle and less than 0.1 grams per 100mL on tap, aims to capitalise on the growing better-for-you trend.
According to XXXX Field Sales Director Pat Donohue, “this new product not only aligns with the broader cultural movement towards mindful consumption but also ensures that enjoying a great beer doesn’t mean compromising on taste or quality. It also reflects our commitment to innovation that empowers Aussie drinkers to make choices to suit their lifestyle.
Drinks Trade recently caught up with Kerry Appathurai, Sales Director at Lion Australia, to discuss Lion’s new Ultra Zero Carb segment: “Aussie drinkers are paying close attention to carbs, calories and sugar in their drinks. Innovation in beer that overcomes these barriers without compromising on taste will be the key to unlocking recruitment into the category. It is an exciting time for the category.”
XXXX Ultra Zero Carb is now available in major retailers nationwide and in select Queensland stadiums at an RRP of $20.50 per 6-pack and $52 per case of 24.

Corryton Burge launches sparkling wine collection
Last week, Corryton Burge unveiled its debut sparkling wine collection, a range of three wines that fulfil three distinct subcategories.
First in the collection, the Corryton Burge NV Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay retails for $28 and was tank fermented prior to an extended maturation on lees.
Next in the range is the $45 Martha Mae Tasmanian Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay 2019, which was named after the Burge family’s great-grandmother. According to Corryton Burge, the sparkling is crafted from a stellar vintage in Tasmania, resulting in aromas of wild florals and fresh beach spray with hints of almond pastry and vanilla cream. The vintage sparkling was aged for three years on lees prior to bottling and has an ageing capacity of up to 10 years.
The final wine in the range, the NV Sparkling Red, has been crafted from Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Grenache that was aged in small old oak barrels prior to secondary fermentation in bottle and maturation on lees.
All three wines are available to trade via ALM nationwide, along with via Verasion Wines in NSE and The Wine Agent in Victoria.
Tasted: Attica x Remedy Strawberries & Cream
Remedy Drinks has launched its third collaborative kombucha flavour variant in partnership with official brand ambassador Ben Shewry, chef at Melbourne’s Attica restaurant. Following on from Lime Spider and Apple & Rhubarb Crumble, Attica x Remedy Strawberries & Cream is available now for a limited period of time.
The Drinks Trade staff recently had a chance to sample the product: “A soft, luscious, creamy mouthfeel stands at centre stage – really voluminous and creamy – with fresh sharp strawberry on the entry mellowing out into more mellow vanilla and strawberry ice cream flavours. Fairly sweet and without any harsh acid notes.”
Attica x Remedy Strawberries & Cream is available now at $42 per case of 12.
