Carlton and United Breweries (CUB) has announced Richard Oppy as its new Marketing Director.

On the appointment, CUB Chief Operating Officer, Mike Walsh, said: “Richard has worked across every brand in the business and I am confident he will passionately lead our marketing team and become a valued member of our executive team.”

While looking to the future of his appointment, Mr. Oppy says one of the biggest challenges he and the team at CUB face is turning the beer category around.

“We know we have to be bold when it comes to innovation and make sure we’re nimble enough to deliver what drinkers want.

“We will also continue delivering value for our customers,” Mr. Oppy added.

Mr. Oppy has held the position of Marketing Director since the end of 2014, when former Director Peter McLoughlin stepped down due to ill health. This news however recognised the official and permanent appointment of Mr. Oppy to the role.
