Sailor Jerry is bringing live music experiences back to Sydney as it navigates through COVID-19.

The brand has partnered with independent bands to provide unique and exclusive gigs with a twist - all delivered in a COVID-safe environment.

Over the next month, music lovers will be invited to apply to attend the ‘Sailor Jerry Sessions’ - a series of free, intimate gigs in Sydney which have been created to get behind the city’s music scene to keep it rocking at a time that it’s really needed. Those that can’t get to a gig in person, but are still craving their music fix, can watch all of the gigs live via Sailor Jerry’s Instagram page - www.instagram.com/sailorjerryaus.

Fans that manage to snap up one of the limited tickets will also have the opportunity to be inked with a new tattoo, as part of a memorable experience that champions Sailor Jerry’s renowned ‘all-in’ spirit - and supports the tattoo artist industry at the same time.

Sydney punks The Dead Love will launch the series on August 12 - and fans will be greeted with a first-of-its-kind spectacle. In an Australian-first, the band will perform live while simultaneously being tattooed with Sailor Jerry Flash art. Additionally, the gig will be hosted in a venue that is not usually associated with live music performances: The Tattoo Movement tattoo parlour.

The Dead Love said: “The last couple of months in lockdown have been tough, not just for bands, but for the entire industry. It sucks we can’t play and hit up live shows in our local venues. When Sailor Jerry gave us the call and told us they wanted to support the industry, we were super keen to get involved! Then when they asked us if we’d be up for the challenge of getting tattooed while we perform, we thought ‘why the hell not?!’ We appreciate all the support and can’t wait to have a banger night with crew that are into our music.”

Two-piece band The Polish Club (above) will be taking to the stage on August 19 at Newtown cocktail bar, Earl’s Juke Joint.

Novak, Singer and Guitarist, The Polish Club, said: “It’s been too long in between drinks and even longer between live sets. So what a lovely treat to have both with Sailor Jerry. Let us all set sail through a sea of booze and sweat.”

Rounding the series out on August 27, Newcastle’s pop punk outfit, Eat Your Heart Out, will conclude the celebration of indie music at backstreet city bar, Since I Left You (pictured main) in Sydney’s CBD.

Sailor Jerry Brand Ambassador, Lucille Rose (above), said: “At Sailor Jerry, we stand strong and we stand together through tough times, adversity and hardship. We may all be separated physically at the moment but if we Stand Fast together, we will come out the other end. Our new music series is our commitment to standing fast and we’re looking forward to our fans joining us in getting behind the music industry and raising a glass to the legends that make it tick.”

Limited spaces are open to those wishing to get tattooed while they watch an exclusive live music performance as part of a memorable night out. To apply for a spot or to watch the live music performances, head to www.instagram.com/sailorjerryau.
