Scotchmans Hill’s new Single Vineyard series has seen the release of three limited edition wines from their premium Sutton, Norfolk and Armitage vineyards.
The 34-year-old vineyard sites produce some of the best quality grapes on the estate, which were then handpicked, crafted and cellared for years before release.
The three wines released are the 2010 Scotchmans Hill Sutton Vineyard Chardonnay, the 2010 Scotchmans Hill Norfolk Vineyard Pinot Noir and the 2010 Scotchmans Hill Armitage Vineyard Pinot Noir.
The 2010 Scotchmans Hill Sutton Vineyard Chardonnay is an expertly structured wine, balanced by a mineral foundation with excellent acidity. It has been crafted for long-term cellaring of 6 to 8 years.
Strong acidity and mature fine grain tannins have fashioned a structured, balanced and intense 2010 Norfolk Vineyard Pinot Noir. It has been crafted for long-term cellaring of 6 to 8 years.
The 2010 Armitage Vineyard Pinot Noir is the first release of its kind. It has a powerful flavour of plum, red fruit, dark cherry and hints of spicy oak. Sharp acid, subtle tannins and a strong, lingering finish harmonise in this standout wine.
Situated on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, Scotchmans Hill has developed a reputation as one of Australia’s most prominent producers of cool maritime climate wines. Their latest series is driven by their philosophy of minimal intervention with the vines to produce a healthy, clean and intensely flavoured fruit.
