Premium rum brand Flor de Caña is back at it for the third year in a row, and they’re on the search for the world’s most sustainable bartender. The Sustainable Cocktail Challenge is the ultimate test of creativity inviting bartenders from around the globe to create never-before-seen cocktails using sustainable ingredients and innovative techniques.

With registrations now open, bartenders are encouraged to create and register their cocktail at www.flordecanachallenge.com. The judges will be looking for cocktails with a winning combination of creativity, sustainable elements, appearance and it must use Flor de Caña’s 12-Year-Old Rum.

The local finalists will be selected internally by the Flor de Caña Asia Pacific Team, to participate in the local competition in September as part of Sydney Bar Week. But the journey doesn’t end there, the winner from each participating country will earn the ultimate trip to Nicaragua to compete in the Global Final in February 2024.

Participants will not only have the chance to win $10,000USD and earn the coveted title of ‘Flor de Caña World’s Most Sustainable Bartender’ but they will also participate in international guest shifts and masterclasses as part of the Flor de Caña Sustainable Society Exchange Program.

Flor de Caña is the world’s first spirit to be Carbon Neutral and Fair Trade certified and is a leader in sustainable practices across the drinks industry. Its rum is distilled using 100 percent renewable energy, all C02 emissions during fermentation are captured and recycled and the brand has planted 900,000 trees since 2005.

Registrations for the Sustainable Cocktail Challenge in Australia are open until June 15 and are run by Flor de Caña’s Australian distributor, Vanguard Luxury Brands. Visit the website to register your sustainable cocktail today!
