The Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Awards is one of the biggest and most important wine competitions in the world, with more than 3,000 wines submitted from 42 different countries. The competition is judged by a panel of tasting experts, including trained oenologists, leading sommeliers, expert wine retailers, wine journalists and scientists from across the globe.

The Best in Show Australian Red, Taylors 2018 The Visionary Cabernet Sauvignon, brings together the finest Clare Valley fruit selected from exceptional parcels, with meticulous attention to detail in the winemaking process. This is the ninth ‘Best of Australia’ trophy Taylors has won at the prestigious competition since 2015.

Mitchell Taylor, third-generation Winemaker and Managing Director of Taylors Wines says of the award win: “We crafted The Visionary in honour of my grandfather, Bill Taylor Snr, who was adamant about his vision of producing wines from the Clare Valley that stand tall amongst the world’s best. This wine is a realisation of ‘Big Bill’s’ vision to create a pinnacle expression of Australian cabernet.

“It’s exciting to see wines from recent vintages really coming into their own. We’re extremely honoured to see this noble grape variety from our home in Clare being recognised on the global stage and can’t wait for wine lovers to get a taste of these exciting wines.”
