St Hugo has announced the release of its Fine and Rare Collection, a select range of scarce back vintage wines.
St Hugo’s Fine and Rare Collection is a series of back vintage Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon that has been released to showcase the longevity and complexity that is gained by these wines with extended cellaring.
Stored securely and in carefully monitored conditions at the St Hugo winery in the Barossa, these back vintage wines from 1998, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 have been hand selected after rigorous tasting and review by the Chief Winemaker, Peter Munro before consideration for re-release.
“The St Hugo Fine and Rare Collection is an exciting release of some of our finest back vintages," said Munro.
"It has been fascinating to monitor the evolutionary transformation that these wines have undergone during the extended cellaring process.
"The 1998 St Hugo Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is a fully mature wine from an exceptional vintage that is still displaying primary blackcurrant flavours twenty years on. While the 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 are excellent examples expressing the individual vintage conditions and will continue to develop further complexity over the coming decade."
Previously only available to purchase at the St Hugo home in the Barossa, the St Hugo Fine and Rare Collection is now available to collectors and customers for purchase through select wine merchants, the St Hugo wine club, travel retail and selected venues.
