Production of Strongbow cider resumed in Australia last month after being moved offshore in 2022 following the company's acquisition by the Heineken Company in 2020.

Sold in more than 40 countries, Strongbow is one of Heineken's leading cider lines, and the acquisition of the Australian brand in 2020 reunited the global portfolio under one roof after 17 years operating as separate entities.

Tackling local sales and distribution, Drinkworks, a subsidiary of the Heineken Company, will retain the original recipe and iconic green bottles with a few additional offerings.

Judd Michel, General Manager of Drinkworks, said the return to Australian production demonstrates the brand's ongoing commitment to its loyal customers.

"In early 2022, we made some changes. We refreshed the brand livery and moved an Aussie favourite offshore," said Judd.

Andrew Skehan, Marketing Director at Drinkworks, added: "We have some of Australia's most loyal cider drinkers, who love the product the Australian way for more than 50 years.

"We are thrilled to be delivering on what our customers asked of us, seeing Australian-made Strongbow back in production."

In addition to Strongbow's existing range, Strongbow has also announced Strongbow Blossom Rose, 8.2 per cent ABV, will also make a comeback.

Inspired by apple blossoms, Strongbow Blossom Rose is a high-alcohol, sparking cider made from a delicate blend of hand-picked apples, tart elderberries and fermented wine yeast. The Strongbow Lower Carb Cider will also get a makeover, now available in a 355mL clear flint bottle.
