Pull out your finest Hawaiian shirt and florals, Sugarcane Sunday is coming back to Sydney.
The end of summer rum festival will include an entire week of events this year.
From April 8-14, some of the city’s best cocktail bars will be hosting a selection of rum masterclasses, competitions, and shaking up delicious rum cocktails to give everyone a chance to appreciate Sydney’s oldest spirit.
The grand finale - Sugarcane Sunday - will take place on Sunday, April 14. Running from 1-8pm, the day will give attendees the chance to taste more than 100 rums in a pop-up market, buy some tiki mugs for home or find a tropical shirt for their collection.
There will also be a Tiki Face Off Cocktail Competition at 4pm.
Founder Tom Bulmer, director of The Rum Club Australia, said: “Rum often gets a bad rep in Australia, yet around the world it’s known as the fun island spirit of the Caribbean and the tropics. Rums carry the pride and culture of each island nation that makes these high quality spirits. This is what we want to remind Sydney and Australia about.”
