In a bid to promote Aussie Wine Month, Wine Australia is inviting restaurants, pubs and bars from across the country to enter their ‘By The Glass’ Australian wine list.

Entrants must have a by-the-glass wine list that is exclusively Australian throughout May to win a spot on the upcoming Trade Immersion Program (TIP) wine regions visit in June.

The competition is launching as part of Aussie Wine Month - the biggest annual celebration of Australian wine, which will celebrate its fourth birthday this year and aims to celebrate the quality and diversity of Australian wine regions and their produce.

Venues that participated last year included Black by Ezard, ARIA, Quay, Flower Drum, Merivale and Stokehouse.

Venues that register and qualify will have their all-Australian wine list judged by an industry expert (wine writer Peter Forrestal was last year’s judge) and the winner will be judged on creativity, a clear focus on Australian wine, the entrant’s ability to promote their Australian wines-by-the-glass offering through social media and other networks and the thought or theme behind the selection.

The winner will join the next TIP trip, visiting regions including King Valley, Mount Benson, Langhorne Creek and Riverina.

Entrants must be received by 8 May and venues can register at www.aussiewinemonth.com or by contacting Gabrielle Fittler on 02 9361 1721.
