Fever-Tree has gathered its network of gin distillers and booked out First Fleet Park in Sydney's The Rocks as the much-loved event returns to being a real life experience in 2021.
In 2019, Fever Tree's Gin and Tonic festival was a sell-out event in Sydney with 3500 gin-lovers wandering through the gates. Last year, the festival went national as a virtual event.
The Sydney festival will run from Thursday, 25 March - Sunday, 28 March when it will showcasing twenty of the best gins from around the world. It will then tour in Melbourne and Brisbane with one more Australian metro location still to be confirmed.
“With the unquestionable surge in popularity of the humble G&T, Fever-Tree’s role in navigating the G&T landscape becomes more heavily invested in consumer activations”, said Andy Gaunt, Fever-Tree General Manager, Australia and New Zealand.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has provided many challenges in the past 12 months, but we are thrilled to bring our network of gin distillers and gin-thirsty consumers back together for the 2021 Fever-Tree Gin & Tonic Festival, in locations around Australia this year.”
More than 160 million gin and tonics are expected to be consumed per year by 2022, representing a 55 percent increase from 2018[1]. Australia is seeing strong premiumisation trends for both mixers and spirits, with sales of premium tonic overtaking those of traditional mainstream tonics in retail for the first time in 2020.
Fever-Tree has lead the growth in this category with a 43 per cent increase across scan grocery and distribution growth into Harris Farm as well as extended distribution across BWS outlets and the Coles Liquor Group[2].
A wide range of gins will be on offer at the festival catering to an increasingly experimental consumer palate, paired with the world’s finest tonics from Fever-Tree. Festival goers will be able to immerse themselves for three hours in all things gin and tonic, with complimentary workshops and discovery talks alongside a range of food and live entertainment.
In Sydney, festival organisers promise a leading line-up of twenty of the best Australian and international gin distillers, each with an opportunity to deliver their brand and flavour story while sampling to the 3,500 attendees at the event.
Four Pillars Gin will launch their latest (yet to be announced) limited-release gin and Archie Rose Distilling Co, will be offering a gin crafted exclusively for the Festival. A line-up of top New South Wales local distilleries are on board, including Botany's boutique family-owned Banks & Solander, Newcastle's Earp Distilling Co and Shoal haven's first craft distillery, Tara Distillery.
Full-sized bottles of gin will also be available for take-away purchase from all distillers.
