Some of Scotland's rarest whiskies will launch in Australia this week as part of the Special Releases Legends Untold: Elusive Expressions collection from April 27 - 30.

The cult Sydney diner Butter will transform into a whiskey wonderland inspired by comic strips, myths and manga to celebrate the fantastic launch featuring rare releases from the likes of Lagavulin, Talisker, The Singleton and Oban.

Ex-Rockpool Bar & Grill chef, now Butter Executive Chef, Julian Cincotta said the experience would allow participants to sample rare gems from the world's oldest whisky companies.

"Think comic books, superheroes, fun times, and of course, fried chicken! Let us take you on an epic journey through some of Diageo's oldest whisky dynasties for the chance to experience these rare liquids.

"So run, don't walk to discover the Elusive Expressions collection at Butter for yourself before it's gone," he said.

The collection is made up of eight individual whiskeys distilled to perfection and carefully selected by Dr Craig Wilson, Master Blender at Diageo.

Katie Nagar, Luxury Spirits Expert at Diageo, said the collection is a masterful exploration of some of Scotlan's most precious whiskeys.

"As our most imaginative and daring collection yet, it's only right that Butter hosts our Special Releases: Elusive Expressions After Dark Comic Book pop up bar, giving whisky enthusiasts and those with a thirst for adventure the chance to escape into a world of mystic and opulence," she said.

The collection includes four dark and four vivid offerings, including:
