Takamaka Rum has officially launched into Australia via Dispatch, a new spirits importer with a focus on sustainability.
The number one spirit of the Seychelles, Takamaka was founded in 2002 by brothers Richard and Bernard d’Offay. The portfolio now spans three collections: the Seychelles Series, St André Series, and Le Clos Series.
“We are thrilled to be working with Takamaka as one of the first brands we’re representing under the Dispatch label,” said Aaron Shuttleworth, Director of Dispatch Imports.
“Takamaka has been making waves globally for a couple of years now and their approach aligns closely with our own; great quality product that wants to have fun and shake up a tired category, underpinned by strong ESG credentials. We see instant homes in cocktail lists for the ‘Seychelles Series’, and the ‘Le Clos Series’ competes with the best rums in the world on the backbar.”
Bernard d’Offay, Co-founder of Takamaka, added: “For us as a business and me personally, I am so excited to be launching in Australia. Not only is it a place which I fell in love with almost 20 years ago but it’s a market which I believe Takamaka will thrive.”
Initially, Takamaka Rum will be available in New South Wales and Victoria, ahead of Dispatch’s plans to achieve national coverage of both on- and off-premise channels by 2026.
